The Venn is LIVE!
Writer Audre Lourde said that “there is no such thing as a single-issue struggle, because we do not live single-issue lives.” That's the essence of intersectionality - the space where our identities, our ideas, and our issues converge. Intersectionality is also the heart of our new podcast, The Venn.
In our inaugural episode, WWM founder sits down with the brilliant Esther Choo, MD, MPH, to talk about Choo's journey to activism as a female doctor in a system built for and by men. From equity to implicit bias, they explore what it will take to reshape the culture of healthcare into one that welcomes their daughters, fearlessly calls out toxic behavior, and compassionately calls in all those historically underrepresented. An emergency doctor and associate professor at Oregon Health & Science University, Choo is also a founding member of Time's Up Healthcare.
